Featured Model June ClaxtonOur first featured model of the year is June Claxton. She took time out of her busy schedule to give us a little insight on her life as a model.
Where are you from?
I'm originally from Georgetown, Guyana, located in South America.

Where do you currently live?I currently reside in Brooklyn, New York.
At would age did you realize you wanted to become a model?
I realized I wanted to be a model at the age of 10.
What age did you actually get into modeling?
I got into to modeling @ age 23, when i got the opportunity to come to the U.S.A
Was getting into the modeling industry a challenge for you?
It was challenge getting into the modeling industry because you always have to be prepared to take challenges and to develop a thick skin for criticism.

What would you say are the dos and don’ts for being a successful model?
My Do's in modeling are:
1- Being prepared, being flexible, being reliable and being confident and living your life as a model everyday.
My Don'ts are:
1- Never be late for an audition or a show.
2- Never say something cute on your way out of an audition if you don't make the cut.
Just smile and say" thank you"
What would you say makes you different from other models?
I think I’m different from other models cause I’m very outgoing, down to earth and not forgetting I love to eat food.

What agencies have you modeled for?
None in particular, i basically freelance.
Any projects coming up for us to look out for?
I'm looking forward to being in fashion week and also cutting a demo.
What advice would you give to young women and men of color that are trying to get into the modeling industry?
My advice is believing in yourself, your abilities, and what you’re doing.
Remember you have to believe in yourself before other people will believe in you.

A typical day for me is waking up and looking forward to seeing my friends and family.

I see myself being a successful model, actress.
