The Maturation of the @DonGhotti MIXTAPE Series!!!

All good things MUST come to an end.
When I first started this mix tape series back in January of '09 I had no idea that I would end up with 5 installments of some of Indie music's most talented human beings. Initially, I wanted to create a collage of music from all of the people I'd interviewed from my Podcast, but it later blossomed into a series that would fit nicely in any music lovers collection.

Volume 1

The series started where I created a storyline that mirrored an actual trip that I'd took from Atlanta to Los Angeles, then on to New York City and finally back home to Atlanta. When you listen to the skits, you will understand that the music that plays on the tape is actually what I'm listening to on my Ipod Touch during the trip. As I pull the earphones out of my ears and speak, the dialogue is the actual skits. The play list was quickly filled when my music industry friends and resources sent records on behalf of their clients for placements. I then worked alongside budding A&R prospects as well as my friend and engineer DJ EzE to piece the project together in a record 2 weeks. I finally completed the first tape. I worked the marketing and manufacturing magic behind the scenes then launched my first listening party. See the pics HERE !!!

Volume 2
With volume 1 in the bag my mind wouldn't allow me to relax.
I hopped a plane to LA in February during the Grammies and sought inspiration for yet another volume. I still had a huge surplus of records from the first volume which I never used. I wanted this second tape to be a collage of West Coast inspired music. This trip would give me just the vibe to complete it [Click HERE to see my Westside pix]. I spent most of my time in Beverly Hills, cruising down Sunset vibing and listening to Indie music riding shotgun alongside my recording artist Otis Lee. This trip to LA was the perfect medicine needed to complete this tape. I know I'm getting a little ahead of the story, but click HERE to view the pix from my next Listening Party for volume 2. Next on to New York City.... Swoosh!!!

Volume 3
The flight landed safely at Kennedy Airport.
I grabbed my bags and exited to my waiting car service. As I rode through the gritty city I was instantly inspired to make an edgier tape that embodied Urban Indie Street Music. I opened the door to my apartment in the city, dropped my bags, and hit the showers. Fresh out the water, I bundled back up and caught a cab to the Virgin Mega store for the midnight release of Ryan Leslie's debut LP. Think I'm just making this up, well click HERE to see my NYC pix. During this trip I was still promoting volume 1, therefore I was off to my NYC Release Party at Negril Village. My big Homies Big Ced & DJ Music Rocka held me down righteously. DJ Music Rocka spun volume 1 from reel to reel during Ladies night [Thursday]. Again I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but after volume 3 you'll hear me exiting NYC LGA airport back home to my city of Atlanta, but in real life I went on to Washington DC. Click HERE to see the pix from volume 3's release party back in Atlanta.

Volume 4.1 & 4.2
Volumes 4.1 & 4.2 began the Maturation of the Don Ghotti brand.
This was my opportunity to end the storyline and began the opportunity to educate my listeners with quotes between the music. I also broke up the disc set to change up the monotony of the traditional mix tape that the listeners are used to. I'll admit I was quite burn out with producing mix tape projects which means I almost DID NOT drop this project. I didn't even do a release party to promote it. For that, I would like to formally apologize to my fans, "I APOLOGIZE!!"

Volume 5
The Beginning
The End???
This project will be my Magnum Opus.
Volume 5 is the True Maturation of the Don Ghotti brand.
The only way to find out what this project has in store is to simply tune in, the Release Date/Party is slated for October 16th, 2010 [My Birthday weekend] in Los Angeles, California. The final question remains,
WILL YOU BE THERE???

***MEDIA ALERT***MEDIA ALERT***MEDIA ALERT*** Underground Artist Railroad seeks to bridge the past, present and future with tour from Atlanta to NYC

Atlanta, Ga.- Offering aspiring southern artists the opportunity to showcase their talents for major label A&Rs, magazine editors and celebrity bloggers in New York City, Atlanta-based public relations firm DGPR gears up for its Underground Artist Railroad tour. The journey begins in Atlanta when 10 artists board Amtrak trains for a 17-hour trek to the Big Apple.

Themed after Harriet Tubman’s historic Underground Railroad system where she bravely led countless slaves to freedom in the North, the Underground Artist Railroad seeks to liberate minds, educate artists on the music industry and make an undeniable mark in history via an artist showcase in NYC.

“I crafted the Underground Artist Railroad after Harriet Tubman because she made trips into realms of the unknown,” says DGPR president Don “Ghotti” Pitts II.

Much like the cost of freedom in the days of old, there is definitely price to pay in search of dreams but the case is less costly today. Following in the footsteps of courageous freedom fighter also known as “Moses of her people,” Pitts hopes he can make his undeniable mark in not only music and entertainment but African-American history.

“Most of these artists would never go to New York under any other circumstances,” Pitts explains. “Of course, our journey will be nowhere as dangerous what she did but we intend to keep her spirit alive by paying homage to her.”

Major label recording artists and other industry tastemakers will board the train at various cities along the way to share insight into the music industry and answer questions. After arriving in New York, artists will perform in a showcase for major label A&Rs, magazine editors and celebrity bloggers.

Launching the company earlier this year with offices in New York and Atlanta with operatives across the country, Don Ghotti Public Relations firm was created by Pitts as an inexpensive resource for aspiring artists. “I started this company and orchestrate events like this because I want to empower people,” says Pitts. “I got tired of seeing people ripped off so now I am doing something about it.”

Book DON GHOTTI & DON PITTS to host your Next Event

DG aka Gwap Daddy - Mogul In the Making

DG aka Gwap Daddy
Mogul In the Making

When one thinks of mogul the names that come to mine are Sean Combs, Russell Simmons, and Sean Carter. These men started there businesses with a dream that manifested into a successful reality. Each one starting off as interns, artists and college students but eventually progressing into leaders. Well add one more name to that chain of legends Donald "Ghotti" Pitts.

Who is Don "Ghotti" Pitts? This is the question that has been forming in the minds and out the mouths of many in the entertainment industry. Don Ghotti is a husband, father, businessman, and trendsetter. Hailing from Macon, G.A. Ghotti began his road to success in 1998 as an artist signed to his own label Felicitous Records. Using the knowledge that he learned as an artist and label owner he became a manager, a&r, promoter and podcast host.

Record breaker and innovator can also be added to the already long list of titles for Mr Ghotti. As host and creator of The Adventures of Don Ghotti & Don Pitts syndicated radio show he has introduced fresh new talent to the world. What's next you might ask well coming off the success of 3 volume mixtape series, recent release of The Adventures of Don Ghotti and Don Pitts E-Comic Book and the launching of DGPRinc Ghotti has no plans on stopping anytime soon.

The Adventures of Don Ghotti & Don Pitts - The Video Vol. 1
With this Mixtape Don Ghotti bridged the gap between the North and the South. The mixtape would be compared to a pot of gumbo; a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Most people will be taken back by the sounds hitting their speakers as soon as Play is pressed. The Adventures of Don Ghotti and Don Pitts features some of the hottest up and coming artists such as Muffy Cupcakeopia (Bangladesh Prod.), Bishop City(Felicitous), Big Sean(Good Music/Def Jam), Hollyweerd, Marky(Universal), Jessica Tonder and a host of others. You must visit Don Ghotti's Blog to download a free copy of the mixtape. The difference between DG and other A&R's/Promoters is that he has a direct relationship with the artists that he works with. He just doesn't put their music out without knowing their background and where their musical destination is. Along with the diverse array of artists, the AODG&DP features production by Lt Moe, Derrick "Drop" Braxton, and Pharrell. Catch up with DG on his ever evolving podcast. You'll be surprised to see who's been interviewed and the topics that are being discussed. Subscribe and get to know Don Ghotti.

PLEASE LISTEN to my Z SHARE....

PLEASE LISTEN to my Z SHARE....
By Don Ghotti

I would need a Scientific calculator to count the amount of times that some recording artist send me direct messages including a Z Share link to their Mixtape or Album...
Ughhhhh!!!!

Ok, ok, so you say you're an A&R for your own label Felicitous Records, Inc. isn't that what you guys get paid to do, listen to new artist trying to find the next BIG thing right???
Well to be quite honest, I get paid to do a a lot of things but listening to a plethora of aimless records isn't one of them. To further explain, let's take a trip down memory lane back to 1998 in a small crime infested town called "Mac-Town" or Macon, Ga where a youthful 21 yr old kid named Don Pitts aka Don Ghotti started a movement called Felicitous Records, Inc.

I worked a job like everyone else and had dreams of rocking international stadiums abroad with millions of fans screaming my name. The one thing I never did was bombard anyone with my records trying to get a deal. I took the Looooooooooooonnnnnngggg route towards my destiny. I pumped thousands and thousands of my own dollars into my music and my brand. Long before Z Share, I Executive Produced my first project on my own imprint
Felicitous Records, Inc. titled "LA Familia" by my group P.I.T.T.S. After the completion of this project my younger brother SeDan D' Villain and I boarded a plane and took the project over to England where my other brother J.P. was stationed in the Air Force. Unknowingly, I was starting a movement which later spawn new companies and situations which brings us to the present day.

I never made any attempt to shop a record deal with my first project nor any project that followed. The years of struggle and personal investment created a brand that allows me to sign the next BIG act through my many facets, DG Management, Inc., Felicitous Records, Inc., or DGPR, Inc. I was blessed to have enough patience and discipline to pioneer my own lane and not put my fate in the hands of a company that did not have my best interest.
In retrospect, I wish I invested in a Publicist years ago to push this same story to the magazines and online sites. Think of the possibilities. The years of blood, sweat, and tears added validity to my story and later allowed me to position myself to help others obtain their dreams in less time than I did. The real question is, what's your story and how do you intend to avoid not making the same mistake I did, which was not investing in a Publicist???

In closing, I would like for all recording artist to understand one thing and that is it's never too late to invest in yourself and your brand. In fact it's the only way to maintain a higher percent of the profits that will come. Follow my simple guide of how to be in control of your own destiny and not put your faith in a direct message which includes a Z Share link. We all have a story to tell through our music, but more times than not we fail to tell that story in words. A Publicist can expedite the time between now and your destiny.
My journey took me 10 years.

How long will your journey take you and better yet when you get there will you be in control of your situation???

Please contact me direct to discuss your project and vision and
I am committed to making my Entertainment PR Services affordable in order to accommodate any humble budget.

THX!
